An introduction to pseudocontractive mappings
Abstract: Pseudocontractive mappings are an important class of nonlinear functions introduced by Browder and Petryshyn in [1]. In this seminar we will analyse the convergence problem for sequences of various types of iterations of pseudocontractive mappings in Hilbert spaces, and additional conditions under which strong convergence is ensured.

Baire categories for Alexandrov surfaces with curvature bounded below
Abstract: We shall present the space of Alexandrov surfaces with curvature bounded below by K. We shall see that the set of K-polyhedra and the set of Riemaniann surfaces whose Gauss curvature is at least K are both dense in it. Then we shall present some recent results concerning the generic properties of Alexandrov surfaces.

Reflexive metric spaces. Examples and properties
Abstract: Having a metric space for which a certain type of convexity is defined, we say that the space is reflexive if every descending sequence of nonempty, bounded, closed and convex subsets of it has a nonempty intersection. The purpose of this talk is to give important examples of reflexive metric spaces that have applications in the metric fixed point theory. In addition, we describe some of their geometric properties which are key tools for proving fixed point results in such settings.
